I am not sure if this is something most pups go through at some point or if it is just a Newfie or Miss Stella thing. Lately we have noticed that Miss Stella is not as adamant about eating her food. She has been on the same brand since a few days after moving in with us. She started on a brand that we could not find locally, so we slowly transitioned her to a popular and premium large breed puppy food. She seems to do very well with this food, healthy, shiny coat, energetic, etc. However, if she does not want to eat it, it will be difficult to get the nutritious benefits from it. We thought it was a phase or some such thing, however she still seems to just push it around rather than eat it. She will eat one bowl eventually, but not consistently. After doing some research, we thought we would try another highly recommended premium large breed puppy food. She did eat her first bowl without walking away after a few bites. She has had her second morning of food and cleared her bowl. We will have to see.
I do not think that mud makes for a nutritous source of food for Miss Stella. Hopefully we will figure out her taste in food rather than mud!
