Weekly Photo Challenge: Movement

The lighting on Miss Stella always astounds me. She morphs colors with the changing lights and shadows in the yard. Add in the patchwork of burned out grass (a.k.a weeds and dirt) and you get is a lot of surprises.

No matter the light or shadow, colorful surprises or not, Miss Stella loves to crouch, stalk, and race for her volleyball.

At the ready, she is completely focused on her job.

No hesitation.

Sometimes it takes a moment for her jowls to catch up, but they do! One of the bigger surprises for us having gained a Newf is their ability to cause laughter just with their facial expressions. Miss Stella brings on laughter even when she seems to be so serious.

Who knew that something over a hundred pounds pounces as if a kitten on a ball of yarn?

Miss Stella’s enthusiasm for going after what she wants is intense. How is it possible that a dog can have such valuable insight into how we need to approach our own lives?

To go for a goal with such intense focus and enthusiasm, reach it, run with it, and then be willing to do it again and again and …. again.

To be more like Miss Stella. Willing to just go for it, give it all, move with intention. I need to put a little Miss Stella in my intentions today.

  1. Great lesson, Stella. Thank you.

Seeing your big girl reminded me that Stella was one of the names we entertained for Honey before she came home with us. We decided against it because we thought it was “too big a name” for her to live up to.

Seeing your furry bundle of personality makes me think we made the right choice. :)

What are your thoughts?
