Travel without luggage?

Flowers, Blooms, Trees, Leaves

A bloom without leaves and color?

Old house, loss, despair, depression

A home without life or family?

fields, farming, farm work, field work

Life without direction or purpose?

You can not have one without the other. Like hope and faith. Life and loss. Give and take. Love and trust. To experience one, most likely you will have had moments of the other. To truly appreciate either, you have to experience both.

Travel without luggage would not leave much room for a journey. A bloom without leaves and color lacks intensity. A home without life or family leads to despair. Life without direction seems to have no purpose.

Hope without faith? Live having not lost? Give and no take? Love beyond trust?

They both contribute to the moment.

What would a journey be without these?

Sweet and Sassy

Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Chessies, Dogs, PetsA little over 12 years of age, Miss Sadie Lou still tries to act 2 and we have to watch her when she plays fetch as she would run, run, run non stop and not care one bit about her poor ol’ bones.Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Chessies, Dogs, Pets

If she had it her way, she would have all the balls, squeakers, and toys in her possession and would play nonstop ignoring her arthritis. She can still chase with the best of them with her little modified run.  We know when she is late getting her meds as she begins to hobble more and looks at us with those sweet sweet eyes when having to tackle the two steps on the deck. Breaks. My. Heart.

She has not had too many seizures lately and amazes us when she does. She fights through and then tries to get up and get going as soon as it passes. She pushes forward not letting it slow her down. Miss Maggie Mae seemed to sense when they were coming and would always lay by her side until they were over. It has been interesting to see how Miss Stella handles these scary moments. She does not seem to sense them, yet, but does indeed stay close by as if taking on the role of caretaker that Miss Maggie had with Miss Sadie’s seizures.

Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Chessies, Dogs, PetsThis adorable face is one that I often imagine she gives to Miss Stella when trying to gather all the toys into a pile just for her, seniority rules remember, or when Miss Stella is able to hop, jump, and prance at will. These two are so very sweet together, best buds snoozin’ side by side, but then there are those moments when I picture a little ol’ lady with a cane bent over and tired, hobbling to her rocker when this energizer of a bunny toddler comes out of no where bouncing, jumping, unbelievably happy and loud. I often wonder what is going through Miss Sadie’s mind when she is trying to relax and Miss Stella is ready to rumble.
