Sunday Stills: Pot Luck with a Purpose

A simple change in position from my part gives a whole new perception of the content. There is actually more to be seen, different light, a mood and tone change, and a whole new feel.

Allowing the flash to work, using the zoom, and sitting down on the edge of the porch changed how this tree is viewed. It also allowed the morning moon rise to be seen where in the first take, without the flash, zoom, or tilt of the capture, it is almost hidden.

Rather than looking down, I adjusted where my view started and instead reached towards them with the camera lowered to their eye level. Amazing the difference this makes. It brought out more depth and detail both of which were not nearly as evident in the previous take.
Allowing ourselves to see things differently, to look at things with a change of perspective, truly reveals what may have been missed. Having an open mind, willing heart, and eager eye can provide insight into many of life’s moments that we often feel we cannot or simply quit trying to see.
