Miss Stella has worked hard for me with her training lately. She has been practicing her commands off leash and is doing well. Her ‘down/stay’ when I am out of her sight is getting better each time we practice. She has also been carrying her basket on her walks. In addition to all of her work, she has also been getting more investigative.
Miss Stella snuck into one of the girls’ rooms and realized the bed was not only bigger, but lower to the ground. She has not quite figured out how to maneuver herself up on our higher bed without a little help (a.k.a. a two-legged person or two to help lift). This bed has tons of room, she can jump on it without help, and….
…there are all of these stuffed animals that look like her Duckie, Rhino, and Mouse/Elephant (which have all gone missing as in torn open so they were hidden/tossed)! Miss Stella loves soft cuddly toys except when we reentered teething we started to rip things open. She does not get to have these until we get teething and shredding back under control. We are working on ‘Leave it’ to preëmpt the need for a “Give” command. It would seem from this photo she knows this very well. It is sort of like her sitting in the big chair.
However, seeing as she has worked so hard for me and she did not seem to want to chew this to pieces, we thought it would be ok for her to hang out with a new buddy for a little nap. Besides, looking at that tired little face sort of just melts the heart. I completely understand hard work and tired. Miss Stella’s little investigation snagged her a Bear. This just might make the work week a little brighter.
What keeps you going through a tough week?
Just Ramblin’
My family, human and canine, are what keep me going through a tough week! We can’t keep stuffed dog animal toys in our house; Mandy and Darwin can (and will!) tear one to shreds in no time.
Sometimes it seems that a stuffed animal is just another way to practice shredding. : ) Tough weeks are more tolerable when you have a pup and family to share the burden.
All I can say is AWWWWWWWWWWW she is so cute!
Lol…thank you. : )
Oh that last picture is too cute. I am glad she got the bear. She looked like she really needed the bear.
She did need a bear…sleepy and tired. : )
Awww. I agree, I too am trying to picture her carrying a basket on walks. Too cute!
She loves to carry her basket these days! Thank you. : )
Lovely pictures. I had to get used to “not yours”. I heard it a lot when I was younger and after a while realised that not many things were mine! I sometimes still hear but not so much.
Those are words I still tend to hear around here. : )
So SWEET!
Newfs are so very sweet! : )
I just love that she carries a basket on walks.
She cracks us up with that. We have had to come up with some creative solutions to fix the worn out handle as she carries it so much. : )
How sweet is that?? Chance likes to collect all his toys around him for naps. We have benches at the foot of our beds for help up-gotta have dogs in beds!!
What a great idea! A bench may help Miss Sadie too as she can no longer hop onto the bed. : (
I love the picture of her with her head on the animal. Melts my heart.
She does seem to have that ability. : ) Thank you.
Awwwww, Miss Stella what a good girl you are. You look so sweet with the bear. Hugs and nose kisses
Thank you so much. She breaks my heart, and knows it, when she sneaks to snuggle with a stuffed bear. : )
Awww…love her tired face! Leroy always looks so cute when he is napping on the couch! It’s like the couch was made just for him!
Newfs sleep in some of the goofiest positions. I think couches are to newfs like chairs are to us. They only fit onto a couch and they tend to take it over! : )
Awwww, the face of innocence:) Love how she picked that beautiful yellow to complement her furs.
Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
Her face has so many expressions! I had not noticed the color bonus. We were just laughing as she had picked a bear … like her! : )
She looks so cute….a little tired too. Perhaps it is all the learning she is doing! xoxo Chloe and LadyBug
Thank you. She was very tired. The more we walk and train, the more ready she is for some quiet time. She seems to know when to turn on the ‘looks’. : )
My dogs make me smile and laugh every time I come home from work. WHat more do I need than a smile?
Smiling after a long day at work is always a good thing. : ) Laughter is the icing on the cake!
She looks adorable
Thank you. She is a sweetheart. : )
A few things keep me going through a tough week … but the main thing is the hope I have for next week to be better ..
Hope is a wonderful thing. : ) Gets me through so very much.
