Just when I thought the day was longer than long could be, this is what picked me up after work:
With this waiting for me in the car, how could I focus my energy on how long and tiring the day had been? She was actually lying in the front passenger seat, with the seat reclined no less! She had “Ducky” tucked up under her chin and was pretty much out like a light. Apparently, she had been napping quite heavily before my ride got ready to leave to pick me up after work. Once I was able to maneuver her enough to make room for me in the seat, she crawled on my chest, “Ducky” in tow, and proceeded to sit nose-to-nose. With that face and snout, staring me down, the only thing I could do was…well, just let go. I let go of the stress, the tension, and the tiredness that came with a very long workday. She had no idea how much she was doing for me, or maybe she actually did. She does seem to have that wise…”I know so much more than you realize” look some dogs tend to have. Eventually she walked across me to the back seat where she ended up laying across my folders and next to my briefcase as if to say “Enough with the stress already.” She lay in the back seat, yes with Ducky, until we reached home. Once home, as it had been pouring for hours, she then turned into the real goofy Newfy she is….she saw them. Lots of them. Everywhere. PUDDLES! I must now go tend to her hair and thank her for pulling me out of myself. Amazing what a fur ball of chaos can do for a person.
Thanks so much for visiting my ‘Careann’s Musings’ blog today via Freshly Pressed. I love meeting new people here in cyberspace. As a writer I keep my blog’s focus mostly on writing, but I post on other topics, too, including our dogs. I’ve enjoyed having a peek at your blog. It was a delight to find this wonderful photo and your ‘rambling’. Our canine companions are great at drawing us away from ourselves when the day’s stresses overwhelm. I couldn’t imagine life without at least one dog… we’ve had as many as five at a time, but never a Newfie. Shelties and Labradors are my breeds.
Awww, I’ve missed seeing Stella believe it or not. She is adorable and getting bigger. And the fact she was in the reclined seat just tells you she loves you lol. Love this post. Oh and your blog will be mentioned on my blog at 5:30 pm eastern today
I am glad you stopped back by to see how she is doing. Thanks…she is amazing : ) And, WOW! I am curious, excited, and honored to know that you will be mentioning my blog on yours today!
There’s nothing I can add to this post. It sums up perfectly what pets can do for their humans. They’re such wise creatures.
They are indeed. : )
Another excellent post thanks for sharing! I enjoy reading your blog very much. Spending time with my family is something I love to do. Feel free to stop by Easy Lifestyles sometime. We would love to see you there
