Bricking over a window. What purpose does it serve? Is there something to hide on the inside or is it to keep things outside at bay? Is it necessary in order to make room for something else? How often do we ourselves do this? How many times do we shield others and ourselves by covering or putting a wall between? Sometimes it is necessary to protect and or to shield, but what happens if that is the only coping mechanism someone chooses to use? How much light can we really embrace when locked behind walled in windows? This could only lead to darkness. Maybe instead of bricking over useless spaces, we should leave windows in place and strengthen the glass. This would have to be better than complete darkness due to having no alternative to bricking over the windows to ourselves.
