I am excited to say that I have actually won my first blogging award! I have to admit that I am tickled and very pleased. I would like to thank anjobanjo22 at The Novice’s Journey for this cool honor! She is a mother, wife, and loves living and experiencing life to the fullest. Her blog is fun to follow and always filled with great reads, experiences, and ideas. (Check out her blog at http://mommynovice.wordpress.com/author/anjobanjo22/ ) I always love reading her posts!
As with most other blogging awards, this one has a few “rules” to ensure that the love and honor continues to spread.
1. Thank and link to the person who awarded you.
2. Share seven random facts about yourself.
3. Pass the award on to 15 newfound blogging buddies.
4. Contact those buddies, and congratulate them!
Congratulations to all the winners listed below! I am looking forward to reading your “random facts” and upcoming posts!

Seven random facts about me. This is so different from what I usually write about that it is almost difficult for me to do! : )
1. I absolutely love word games and play them as often as possible even though most around me would find that a tad “geeky” of me but I do not really care. People often say that games are for the younger “folk”, but I say ppsshhaa. They are a great way to spend a few minutes of downtime waiting in line at the grocery, sitting in a fast food drive-thru, or while on that unending “hold” on the phone. Makes time fly a little quicker and quells the impatient part of me that wants the wait time to just hurry on up and pass.
2. Everyone around me knows that my blood pretty much is just coffee. What most though do not know (or would believe may be the better word choice) is that I have not always been a coffee-o-holic and that I can even go without! Yes, my days start with a full pot. I gravitate towards any pot during the day when possible, and usually any sort of treat or “reward” I give myself involves a large paper cup with a unique green logo on it. However, I do not HAVE to have it. I just love having it. Life is too short to not enjoy a really good cup of coffee.
3. I have had a craniotomy. Yes indeed I have. Most people literally drop their jaws when I share this as I have no badge on my shirt that says I have survived a brain tumor : ) It is not a fact I just put out there for the world to see, however it is a fact about me. Doctors told me to tell my family “goodbye” and that I most likely would not make it through the next six hours…9 years ago! Needless to say I try to just grab every moment and squeeze it for what it is worth. I have an idea that tomorrow may not come so today is THE day! : )
4. What do I write after that last random fact? I love Nerds. Those little pink and purple boxes of them. Most would be surprised to know this as I am a public chocoholic and coffe-o-holic with no connection to the candy such as these. I keep them as small treats and rewards for my students but usually end up sneaking and eating too many of them myself. I am an old person and should not enjoy them as much as I do, but I do. They are a little tiny box of sweetness that is just enough to brighten a moment when it seems to be just a bit too “blah”. Maybe it is the little box I love as they are pretty cool boxes.
5. Speaking of tiny. Even though I am a grown up, I still want that huge Victorian dollhouse filled with tiny furniture in all of the rooms. I have always been fascinated with “miniatures” (hard for some to believe with my big dogs around here). An elderly neighbor of ours while I was growing up had an entire glass cabinet filled with tiny replicas of Victorian furniture that her husband would create for her. They were stunning and beautiful and I so wanted to be able to play with them. They were always locked away though and not to be touched. Such a waste. Life is much too short to keep behind a lock and key.
6. I use my good china every single day. I received 12 complete settings for my wedding and have used all of the pieces every single day since (no need for years but know that there are plenty of them here!). Why keep the beautiful things stored away for only “special” occasions? Is today not reason enough to celebrate?
7. I would love to be able to cook. Really cook. The kind of cooking that people “ooooh” and “aahhh” over. I have the basics and am decent with those, but I would like to be able to cook those jaw dropping dishes that smell stupendous and taste even better. The dishes that people want to linger over and make last just a little longer. : )
There you have it. Seven random facts. I am surprised I came up with those. But there they are nonetheless.
